Part one of two of a tutorial on the radar of the F-15. This was requested several times. I hope I explained things well enough.
Part 1 is an overview, and then covers RWS and STT radar modes used with the AIM-7 sparrow, and can be applied to the AIM-120 AMRAAM. We shoot down an IL-76.
Part 2 covers TWS, tracking of multiple targets and use of the AIM-120. We shoot down 2 sets of 2 targets each. (4 kills)
This applies to LockOn Flaming cliffs 2.0. Some things may change in FC 2.0. However, Expect the majority of thing to remain the same (If anything changes at all with respect to the radar).

NOTE: This video was recorded using terrain textures taken from DCS Black shark. I do NOT have access to FC 2.0. The Cockpit is also modified. I am currently improving the F-15 cockpit and many of the gauges don't match at the moment. This does not affect the content of the tutorial.

I hope this will be my last tutorial before FC 2.0 is released. Sometimes I find it hard to believe Eagle Dynamics takes so long.

  • love you

  • you are clever

  • ok but how can i lock the enemy? i tried to press "enter" and nothing happened. and how can i switch in TWS mode? thx for help

  • @vRAFonVATSIM You are partially right, when you say that TWS is better! BUT...TWS lock-on is easier to be broken, because occasionally you must readjust your elevation scan! My philosophy while flying F-15C is to use STT while fighting against one target, and TWS while fighting multiple targets, for better insight in situation and multiple targets engagment!

  • @AirBorn2Kill I don't know but it works with mouse too.

  • @sighisoaraa he's using track ir, i think

  • How do you move so smoothly in the cockpit?

  • @ginjaninja1988

This is probably a problem with your range to the enemy aircraft.... the APG-63 can't lock targets STT until they are inside a certain range... try using TWS if this is the case...

Never fire or lock an enemy up STT in an F-15... always... ALWAYS lock and fire in TWS mode, this way the enemy pilot is going to get no warning that you have fired at him until your 120 goes active.

  • I cant lock on to my target. I press the enter key to lock on but it only flashes the lock on box at me and then disapears; like it will only lock on for a split second. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Help please. I have the aircraft in BVR, with ARM120 missles armed. Is it maybe the missle?
