both saws are good, I've run both husky and stihl and now a days ain't much difference. Just what ever a fellows use to.
-
I wonder how fast they would be if they were properly sharpened?

Neither saw are made like they use to be. Stihl and huskys do not last as long now days because people were getting too many years of use out of them. Todays quality of anything sucks!

I work at a power equipment shop and we sell 240e all tue way to the 3120xp and I have to say that the husquvarna is a far better saw we get demos in and try and blow them up and even with straight gas they still don't seize up, cylinder get scared bad but still run, more tree services buy them. And FYI husquvarna just came out with a 562xp with revboost check it out.

The stihl is more durable and much higher quality. Stihl is a professional saw. The qualitys remembered long after the price is forgotten that's stihl

I have to wonder why it is that forestry professionally aren’t the ones who usually get into heated debates regarding saws. It is usually the amateur user that can quote specifications, that has never paid his bills by working in the woods.
The reality is… that almost any modern “professional grade” saw, when used by a non-professional…is twice the saw they could ever use efficiently in the first place.

Speaking of durability, we had a Stihl 440 for about 8 months. One day in the woods the saw started to make a funny noise and shut it off immediately. Took it to a Stihl mechanic he said bearings were bad. I tore into it after I took the cylinder off I noticed there looked to be a hair line crack in the crank. After I looked further into it and split the crank case the crankshaft was completely broken in half. Went directly back to husqvarna after that.
