R.I.P. Jimmy Dean! You were a good entertainer and a very nice television host, helping to bring country music into the homes of the USA thru your wonderful TV variety show on ABC from 1963 to 1966. Watching your show each week with my dad is one of my fondest childhood memories. And you did a pretty fair job of acting on the Daniel Boone show and in the James Bond movie Diamonds Are Forever.

Not that I disagree with you, but, if you want more credibility, you shouldn't be using Google, Yahoo, and Wikipedia. I'm sure you've researched this independently not using scholarly sources, so it gives your argument more credibility if you mention those sources.

when Navy doctors determined that his back injury, re-injured during the sinking of the 109, rendered him unable to remain in combat. Try getting your head out of your ass before you make a typical YouTube asshole of yourself

Joe Kennedy's money may have bought Jack a way into the Navy but I can guarantee you it didn't buy him his way through P.T. school at Melville, nor did daddy's money help him on 1-2 August 1943, when the 109 was sunk. Nor did it help him swim those miles through shark infested waters towing his motor mac, Patrick H. McMahon, who was badly burned, by the strap of McMahon's life jacket. Nor did Kennedy rotate home after the 109 sank, choosing instead to take command of the 59 boat until Nov of 43.

popactor: You couldn't be a bigger jackass if you tried!! So what if he cheated, lied, or blackmailed his way through his presidency. Even Google, Yahoo and Wikipedia put together can't name 5 presidents who didn't murder, rob, rape and steal their way into and through the presidential office.to achieve either personal or so called "national goals". By the way-who else can you name who bought their way INTO and not OUT OF combat?. You make plain your lack of military service:

I said PT 109 movie was 90% bullsh!t, can't blame Kennedy to protect his good look image has president and took control over the production but what we know now of him, cheating, lying and blackmails etc...Even his father paid for his son to be in the navy cos JKF failed the test because they considered him too sickly with a bad back, apparently he had problem just walking up to the deck and then in the movie, he jumps and runs like a super hero.

The only thing Kennedy did wrong was he kept his engines in neutral instead of idle which was the perfered method of P.T. skippers in idle all he had to do was push full ahead and they might have got away .But as i stated earlier his engines were in neutral and to move the Motor Mac had to engage the clutch on each engine to get them into gear not enough time. hindsight is wonderful. He still is a hero in my eyes.

I'm a huge Kennedy admirer. I'm Canadian too. Just someone asked what mistake JFK made that led to the collision, so I told him it was that skipper got distracted and didn't pay close enough attention to the radar so the ship got through and hit them. No doubting Kennedy's extraordinary heroism after the collision, though.
