This is Matthew Sturm performing an acoustic version of Atlantic. I wrote this song a few years back, and it ended up on my full length called "Unspoken Conversations" (available on iTunes) I originally wrote it on piano and when I performed it live it was always with my band which was consisted of bass, guitar, and drums, and occasionally we had a organ player sit it. I really didn't perform it out too much solo, as I could never really get the inflection I was looking for it on guitar. That is until recently.
I started writing this song several years ago, about a woman leaving her husband to be at the altar on their wedding day. And as the song progressed the only reason that I could give her was that no one understood her, and she was being forced in to it, so she was going to leave everyone and move to New York. But I couldn't give her much more of a purpose than that. So I shelved the song and put it on hold. A few months later I visited NYC, and it all came pouring out. The minute I got back home I got to work on it and finished it in just a few minutes. I changed the story around a little bit, 3 parts fiction, one part autobiography, and it was done.
I recorded this in Garageband, and iMovie. I added the harmony parts in the middle of the song after the video track. I hate hearing this song without those parts. I hope you enjoy this. It's one song that's never changed it's meaning for me. Thanks.
What mic are you using? I'm torn between getting a USB mic and recording everything with it or getting a USB device with 2 inputs.

Yeah, it's one mic. A Samson CO1U USB mic. It's got a pretty good range. It was $100 well spent.
