Although they have been testing the water - they have not been testing the livers of the kio... remember that healthy koi can live up to 80 years. These units have not been tested over a long period of time. I believe that they do have a usefulness in non-life supporting water features such as pondless water features or fountains, but I would never feel safe using them in ponds with fish.

I don't believe that adding heavy metals into the water is safe for any life forms in the pond. How this works: It adds Zinc, Copper nad Silver into the water - all of which are heavy metals and bioaccumulates (meaning they don't go away, they continue to accumulate in the bodies of living organisms) much like murcury. While koi have been shown to have a higher tolerance to these than other fish, not to mention frogs, tadploes, dragonfly larvae, etc., these have not been tested long-term

This seems great... however, it's shame you've not updated your website, as I can't find IonGen GEN2 available to buy anywhere! Coming soon?

High tech pond maintenance "Sweet"
Aquascape has successfully used ionization on waterfeatures containing plants and fish dating back to 2005. As with any filtration device it is important to monitor and maintain the performance of the system to make sure it is working properly and the ion concentration in the water is maintained at the proper level.
