The video showes the output of PneumaCare's instrument which observes chest wall movements and calculates volume changes over time based on Structured Light Plethysmography (SLP) technology. SLP is non-invasive, non-contact and has been used to monitor breathing patterns in childern and adults. SLP works by projecting a grid pattern onto a patient's chest area, while in seated or supine position. Two cameras record the changes in the projected pattern on the patient's chest from slightly different perspectives. The result is a moving 3D model of the chest which can be quantified yielding air flows and respiration rates. Results are presented in formats familiar to the clinician and which conform to medical device standards. www.pneumacre.com
