@Franklin8491 Thanks for your comment/s. That's exactly what our plan does by creating an annual base line assessment or BLa to fund SS going forward; the plumber, the president, and the CEO all pay the same BLA (4% if our plan were in effect in 2010). Your history of SS is good - but your plan will not appeal to many people. Instead we should recognize that the 2.54 trillion dollars borrowed from the SS trust fund must be paid back during the retirement of the baby boomers - And the people who should bear the burden of paying it back are the people who benefited most from the orgy of income tax cutting that we have had since Reagan. Cutting benefits to build up a bigger trust fund would just kick the can further down the road.
