Adenkum is sung by Women in Ghana, West Africa and a song telling youth to listen more than they speak, especially so that they can learn from and respect their elders. Sowah Mensah shared this song with students at the Gladys A. Abraham Elementary School in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

October 2010 - A week-long tour of Virgin Islands schools including the opportunity to share cultural music, drumming, singing and dance to students, teachers and administrators was made possible by Ms. Neomie Toussaint-Williams and DaraMonifah Cooper, with collaborative funding and support from The U. S. Virgin Islands Department of Education Cultural Education Division, Virgin Islands Council on the Arts, The University of the Virgin Islands Cooperative Extension Service and KWANZAA365
