On the 65th anniversary of the bombing raids in Dresden, over 15,000 people came to the city to protest against "Neo-Nazis". The right extremists plan a yearly march through the city to commemorate the
"Bombing Holocaust" of the allied forces. The mayor of Dresden condemns the right extremists for using the date for their rassist and ideological purposes.
Over 5,000 Neo-Nazis from throughout Germany and Europe congregated in front of the main train station in Dresden. According to police, there were 1,000 less present than last year.
Thousands of protestors, including left-wing groups, "anti-fascists" came together to organize a human chain. They successfully blocked the streets around the city. There were small clashes between police
and leftists.
Due to the police security concerns, the right extremists were not allowed to march through the city commemorating the Dresden bombings. There were small clashes with the police along police barricades
but no riots. There were small clashes between the left and right in other parts of the city.
ich wiederhole es auch nochmal gerne "...da die strecke immernoch nicht frei ist, kann ihnen die durchfürhung ihres aufzuges nicht gestattet werden..."
