Bayernrundfahrt 2010: Sprint in Pressath

Am 27.05.2010 führt die Bayernrundfahrt (Etappenradrennen für Radprofis) auf der 2. Etappe von Viechtach nach Bayreuth auch durch Pressath, wo viele Zuschauer auf die Radler und die Begleitfahrzeuge warteten. Die Musikschule Pressath-Grafenwöhr unterhielt die Besucher musikalisch, die Raiffeisenbank hatte Aktionen und Wettbewerbe für die Kinder organisiert, außerdem gab es Bratwürste, Brezen, Kuchen und Kaffee.
Ein australischer Berichterstatter war von Pressath begeistert:
"I am over here from Sydney Australia on my way to the French Alps so dropped in on the Bayern Rundfahrt. ... The people in the towns, community, banks, policeman and fire officers are the glue that brings races from all over the world, whether it be Tour Down Under in Adelaide Australia, or the Tour of Bavaria. Something that always amazes me is the excitement on the children´s faces as they receive the clicker noise toys (ratschen) , wave to all the official cars , wait patiently on the side of the road for the riders , who then flash by in seconds! ... The towns hosting the sprints are also always full of music and cheer. Pressath was in full party mode. Especially with the kids on school holidays. I sampled the best German cake around with apple on top in Pressath .... Not sure what it was called but it is a shame they don't have the same baker down there in Australia! It is my birthday today so I gave myself a German treat."
