Pregnant Teen Shot By Boyfriend

A 19-year-old Portage woman died after a domestic dispute turned into a shooting early Saturday morning.

Portage Police tell 24 Hour News 8 they received a call around 3:20 a.m. for a shooting in the 700 block of Alfa Court at the Walnut Trail Apartment complex.

When they arrived on scene they found the victim, Courtney Marie DeLano, and transported her to Bronson Hospital. However, she died a few hours later due to her injuries.

Police say DeLano was pregnant, and the baby also died as a result of the gunshot wound.

Police have arrested a male suspect in the shooting. The identity of the suspect is unknown at this time; but police on the scene tell 24 Hour News 8 the suspect is a 26-year-old Portage man.
