  • It's completely legal for the dog owner to let the dog inevitably die by ignoring the illness.

However it is illegal for the dog owner to try to prolong the life of the dog by performing surgery on it without anesthesia.

The dog only got an infection. It did not die from the surgery. Armies have to perform surgeries to themselves or to others in the battlefield all the time, and they are not licensed.

  • give the old man his dog back.

  • fucking ass hole poor dog :( If you don't have money them why the fuck did you adopt a pet :( that make me so sad .

  • Vets do not go into the profession to make money, but to help animals and their owners. Yet they still need money to pay their staff, building maintenance, continuing education costs, equipment, and their own salary (which is spent largely on student loans). I say give them a break and let them do the job they trained extensively and are licensed to do. At the very least this man should have asked for help rather than taking on something like this himself.

  • My Grandfather used to fixed his animals on the farm! Leave this old man alone you bunch of whore mongers!

  • This is a MAD country of correctness run by corrupt Yuppies Guppies!

  • @Guapwong would I be charge for prostitution if I gave myself a bj or charge for soliciting sex?

  • depends what country your in. in the middle east it could be seen as self mutilation and an affront to god, punishable by death. in the US your just weird =p

  • Would i be charged if i perform surgery on myself?

  • I think the general consensus here is that the guy did not commit animal cruelty.

  • He is lucky his dog did not bleed to death. Even though the man was trying to help his dog and I agree vet bills are outrageous, he should not have taken it into his own hands. I hope he does not ever do that again. There are laws and they need to be followed. The dog loves him regardless, but the infection could of killed the dog. Next we will hear of someone fixing a dog at home, where will this end?

  • How cruel is it to take away the dog from a man that must truly love him. Give the dog an antibiotic and give him back to the owner. Drop the charges. I would do the same if I had the courage to operate.
