President Bush visits the Green Line /
Southern California Rapid Transit District (RTD), 1991.
On September 19, 1991, U.S. President George Herbert Walker Bush visited the Los Angeles (Metro) Green Line during its construction. Distinguished guests included California Governor Pete Wilson, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Samuel K. Skinner Mayor, Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, Senators John F. Seymour and Glenn M. Anderson, Representative Dana Rohrabacher, California Secretary of Business, Transportation, and Housing Carl D. Covitz, and others.
Southern California Rapid Transit District (RTD) - 1964-1993 - was the predecessor of Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, or Metro.
