Hi, Congrats on ur ebony and yes counting heavy with its higher rate better then light armor ebony is 3rd best in gears below dragon adn then Daedric.Mechas metals are used to make dwarven gears. Reading books can increase any of ur catagories each one has 5 books int eh game that increases that area 1 time per book.The khajit went mad from beign traped down there u did the right thing.Shield only blocks if u use it when struck if u dual wepaosn u cant block at all u will take full damage always

Hi, not sure if u have but u can improve ur armors/weapons massively using the work bench and grind stone at blacksmiths areas.It goes up higher depending on ur Smithing lvl,if u have any gears with +smithing enchantment, and if u uses a potion to increase smithing %.u can literaly triple the gear effect if u get into it enough.Daedric is tough i always say dee dric myself but its pronounce more like Day dric the e makes the a upper sound so Daedric :( sucks i got into teh habit of Deedric lol.

man ebony isnt the 3rd best armor in the game it depends on the way you play. if you play an assasin (like me) and take heavy armor you are retarded. and nice vids watching since the 1st :D
