But this profit has also come at a loss. This part of the country is home to a quarter of US casualties in the War in Iraq.

The AMOUNT of money we spend on defense is a disgrace. We are a militaristic and jingoistic nation. If we spent a quarter of our defense budget on international development, we would save more lives than any alleged war for "freedom" ever has.
