French Authorities Investigate Suspicious SF Death
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / KCBS) ― Detectives from Paris have arrived in San Francisco to help solve a case that the local police say was suicide, but the victim's friends and family insist was murder.

One year ago, 36-year-old Hugues de la Plaza was found stabbed to death in his Hayes Valley apartment. The doors were locked from the inside, there was blood everywhere, but no weapon, and de la Plaza had been stabbed three times.

San Francisco police ruled it a suicide, but de la Plaza's girlfriend, Melissa Nix, and his family back in France, believe he was murdered, and now French authorities have arrived to investigate, with the cooperation of the SFPD.
