  • i think i learned a lot today, good speaker

  • I think debian is the best choice for servers.

  • @mrmartinmartin that's an opinion. I'm a OpenBSD user and is just awesome. of course if you say linux you're talking about a kernel an not a complete OS as freebsd linux could be a toy if you try to use that thing by itself. Gnu linux would be the comparison. Gnu linux has its focus and is good for that matter you cannot compare these projests without fogetting what's the main point both has made

  • @Ssotta If you're waiting that software like itunes or stuff like the answer is no. of course maybe if the source code was freely availible maybe someone could make a port of those programs that runs in Os x. the order thing is BSD is a group of licences that because the guy talking is always saying freebsd and not BSD

  • @Ssotta No, FreeBSD and Mac OS X are compatible at a source level. See the Macports project to know the benefit of being POSIX/X11and freebsd compatible for the most part.

  • does mac os x software run in bsd???

    FreeBSD: Smart to Genius

    UNIX Developer: Binary gods
