Well, this first clip is just to make sure I can upload this without it getting removed. I'll download the rest when I have translated them.

Boring weekend nights and extensive english knowledge lead to this. I have subbed this myself, and after having done four parts I have to say I have alot more respect for those who sub then I could ever have dreamt of (damn it's hard work).

I do not own anything of Svensk Filmindustri or the Äppelkriget franchise. This is strictly fan-made.

  • I'd suggest bones as the closest English equivalent to snatterpinnar. Check it out in the English Wikipedia.

Also, THANK YOU SO MUCH for uploading and subtitling this! Wow; it's been 40 years ...

  • @nairb460 You're welcome. And thanks for finding a closest possible translation.

  • Wow. Can't believe it! I saw this in about 1971. i guy from my city who lived in Sweden for a time talked an art film theater into bringing it to US for a showing. I've always wanted to see it again. Thanks so much for all your work to share this.

  • @mreib7 You're welcome.

  • Perhaps its "clappers", "castanets" or "finger cymbals" that you are looking for. Googling "snatterpinne" didn't produce any results comprehensive results for me, so I am not absolutely sure if that is the instrument in question, but now you can check for yourself.

On another note I wish to express gratitude for making this film available and even more so for going through the process of creating subtitles (I know how painstaking it can be). Thanks!

  • @luluintheskies Thanks for the input, but it's neither one of those. If you would go to Wikipedia, select Swedish in the search criteria and search "Snatterpinnar" you'll get a picture of them though. I'm happy you appreciate it. I often think about translating some other things that I like, mostly some of the Falkenberk revues or "Pistvakt - the movie" but I never get to it.
