DS Review: Gardening Mama

Another episode of DS Review. This time, it's Gardening Mama!

Score: 3.5/10 - Good game, but not a main game - not a game you can pick up and play for hours, it's more of a travel game to kill time. Not much meat of the game, but a bit more realistic with the plants wilting and having problems over time. Bugs are really cute or creepy in this. (The white bugs in the game make me gag...ewwwwww...) Too many new options to grab - the fashion items, the gardening items, plus the fertiziler items.

Will it make your kids want to garden? Well, I think so...it's fun and easy to pick up. But the control problems do not lend themselves to this game. (The game uses speed of the stroke on the touchscreen to measure how much soil is placed onto the scale, or the pollonation of the flowers - unneccessarily hard and nitpicky!) Probably not the game to get, if you want something special - but the idea that the fertilizers make your plants special is a good one.)

Is this game more fun than Cooking Mama, or better? Because after Christmas i'll have a ds already and i'll get my second game:)

But for Christmas i'm getting a Metallic Rose ds with Imagine: Figure Sakter and Style Savvy Ds games:)

I like Cooking Mama, but I think Gardening Mama is a bit better. It has a bit more content, and it feels different from the newest Cooking Mama.

It feels a bit more hectic, as you are forced to try to maintain your plants. Example, you finish growing a plant, and you get alerts that whatever in your garden needs maintainence. You go through the game, and it's a lot more involved.

Blow into the microphone of the DS, and rub with your stylus. It's a highly silly way to do it, but yeah...it works.

i have this game and i garden a giant strawberry and golden apple how to do it you say well when you get a present you sometimes get fashion a garden items am i correct i don't know why i'm talking like this well you can get special soil for planting it you plant with that soli for appleI's you get a golden apple and for a giant strawberry you plant the soil and a giant strawberry you have grown and when you grown special fruits or vegtable you get a special garden and i have it

Yes, special fertilizers are the games way to get you to keep playing. You add the "soil" in the normal steps - these are special items you get as bonus items.

i have this game and i planted a golden apple and a giant apple and there in my cute treasure chest you have to get special soil for it everytime you play you get a present and i click the pink one and a golden apple of a bag of soil and that hoe you get special soil and if you chosse a giant strawberry like i have of soil and plant it you get to keep it and it will say what on earth and then the special things you grow it will be in the special garden and you can keep on growing the same thing

hey does anyone know how to 'apply the serum' everytime i try to draw the shape it says wrong and i find it really difficult but don't know if im doing it wrong? please help!
