A fart is made up of several different gases, but it mostly depends on what you eat, but the main gas is Nitrogen, other gases include carbon dixoide (from carbonated drinks) hydrogen, and methane, but methane is only found in 5/9 adults in a fart test, so a fart will contain methane about 5/9 times, but it depends on the diet and person... Same with hydrogen and oxygen, they may/may not show up in a fart. However, nitrogen and carbon dioxide are always found.

This might seem like a daft question but does anyone know what gas is passed when a person farts? Some people have told me it's methane, others hydrogen peroxide, another hydrogen sulphide then again just plain hydrogen. Anyone know for sure?
