Urban Exploration: Abandoned Prison

A winter exploration some time ago. The prison was quite large, but we explored most of it, ... it was once the area's only maximum security prison. Graffiti from prisoners covered some of the cell walls, although my camera couldn't pick up most of its detail. To think that the place was once filled with all sorts of criminals...

This video contains footage of the prison cells, and other places of interest such as the chapel, dentist, kitchen, and other employee areas, etc within the prison. This video also contains some footage from the 1980's when the prison was still active. Hope you enjoy.

@SOCKvideos Most of the time I'll bring a respirator too. Also, bring hand sanitizer.. its cheap and can work wonders :)

We did have capital punishment in the past, mostly through hangings, but it was later abolished. So in some of the older jails you can still see where the gallows used to be. This prison didn't have such an area though.

Do you ever get legal permission to enter the buildings or you just go along and hope for the best?

I'm a novice and looking to get into it :( Unfortunately my practise house has suddenly been boarded up so I can no longer try entering.
