@s3ksee There's also types of balisongs that are specifically designed so about an inch and a half of the blade protrudes from the bottom of the handle the idea being that you can still utilize the blade without having to deploy it first.

For anyone who doesn't know, in the hands of an expert the balisong can be deployed as fast as an automatic switchblade (I know... I was a skeptic until I saw a video of this old man in the Philippines who makes/sells balisongs and he made 1 fwd motion and the friggin' blade was out before u know it). Knife fighters also don't go around flipping the balisong during combat. Mandala Rommel is simply doing an exercise.
