This video actually contains a few tricks.

The 1st one is the double killing of Tweeter, seen at 00:22. To do this, throw an enemy at another and quickly throw an unripe vegetable at the thrown enemy as he is falling off the screen.

The 2nd one is the vegetable launch trick, seen at 00:50. To do this, drop the POW Block and immediately pick up & throw an unripe vegetable as it lands.

The 3rd one is the POW Block log reversal, seen at 01:01. To do this, pick up a POW Block, carry it with you, and jump on a log rolling down a waterfall. As the log rolls down, drop the POW Block onto a solid surface and the log will reverse direction. Be careful because once the log goes all the way up the screen, the player will fall off, so make sure you direct the player to a solid surface.

The 4th one is the flying turtle shell ride at 01:24. To do this, pick up a turtle shell and drop it near a POW Block. Quickly pick up the nearby POW Block and run towards the shell. Jump on the shell while carrying the POW Block and release it while riding the shell. This is the one POW Block trick I didn't know of until I saw Renegade66666's video, so I have to give credit to him. Check out his cool "POW Blocks Tricks and Glitches" video.

The 5th one is a minor trick I call the Invisible Vegetable trick, seen at 02:48 & 02:51 where the vegetable temporarily gets lost in the background.

The 6th one is the Spinning Coins Outside of Subspace trick, seen at 03:17 & 03:38. To do this, pick up a coin just as your character is about to get transported out of Subspace and stay in a ducking position.

  • Killing Phanto? That's quite impressive! I'll look through more of your vids. I'm sure you are aware, some might not be, that this game wasn't originally a Mario game. Originally it was a game in Japan called "Doki Doki Panic" but they changed some of the cosmetics for this (US) Mario 2 version. Lost Levels is the SNES version of the original Mario 2 released in Japan. Anyway, I noticed later on in one of your videos that you already knew the invisible object thing. That's cool.

  • @LedWilde

I never killed Phanto myself yet, but I know how to now after seeing it. Also, I played Doki Doki Panic a while back on an emulator after finding a rom. I also played the original/Japanese version of Super Mario Bros 2 on an emulator & bought the disk, but I don't have the Famicom or the Famicom Disk System to play it yet. As a kid, I knew that the Japanese version of SMB2 was a different game. But I didn't know about DDP until researching it on the internet.

  • You must really love Super Mario Bros. 2!!!

  • 1:28 NICE!

  • @wtcvidman That's cool. Never knew about the Japanese SM2 and Doki Doki Panic until 3 or 4 years ago on the net. Before I found out I started to have a hunch that SM2(US) was a remake of another game. Not sure why. SM2 was my favorite Mario game for a long time. When 3 came out I liked it but was still so into 2.

  • @LedWilde

Yeah, I've done that many times while playing the game. I did it as one of many other tricks in my Super Mario Bros. 2 Tricks #1 video along with making the SMB1 music from Subspace loop continuously, making the key squeal, and a few others. The amount of tricks you can do in this game is quite high. I found out how to kill Phanto after watching the AVGN's Glitches video.

  • You have to time it just right. That is if my memory is correct. I know this for a fact: you can pick up nothing in this game and have done it a lot. But not 100% sure if that was how it's done but I really believe so.

  • Never seen the turtle shell thing before. That's cool. Been a long time since I played this but you know how you throw a turnip and a guy, it hits him, you get on that turnip again, and pick it up real fast at 2:47? I do believe, if my memory is correct, if you throw a bad guy at another bad guy and try to pick one of them up like you do the turnip, you'll pick up nothing. Literally! It's like you're holding something but nothing is there. Then you can throw nothing but doesn't do anything.
