CSX 8209 was a Pacesetter Lead unit, specially equipped to load unit coal trains at a slow, steady rate of speed. I caught this engine leading empty ELFX hopper trains on two separate occasions, about a week or so apart. The engine consist was a little different the second time. Both trains were caught entering the tunnel under Norfolk Southern's mainline at Spartanburg.

  • CSX should at least save some SBD/FLS engines!

  • @DouglasP201 That would be nice to see CSX do that.

  • @DouglasP201 No offense but SCL formed SBD and Killed the L&N and where mean to the employee's so, I don't like SBD

  • @RodPower78 Yeah, & NS already have there Southern heritage unit!

  • @DouglasP201

Or they could do Heritage unit much like Union Pacific has done. I would love to see CSX have the classic colors on the newer units to give a nod to their past. It would be nice to see Old Chessie and the Family Lines back on the rails again.
