Las Vegas Snow 12/17/2008

Just as the snow begins to fall, we listen to the LAS ATIS (1/4SM +SNFG 003BKN 008OVC), observations that I'm sure we'll never hear in Vegas in our lifetimes again. Following that are scenes around Las Vegas and Henderson in the afternoon at the peak of the storm, and then the drive into work the following morning. We received 8+ inches at the house in Henderson, and there were isolated 1+ foot amounts. A truly once in a lifetime event for those of us in Las Vegas!

I was due to fly back to the UK that afternoon. Obviously the flight was cancelled and I was forced to stay on another day - tough gig but someone's gotta do it !I had gone on hols to escape the British winter...........Fabulous pictures

8 inches of snow - that is really kooky for Las Vegas. I didn't realize this storm dropped that much.
