My comment had to do with the APA's stance on the effectiveness and appropriateness of corporal punishment. I was responding to your statement that said corporal punishment had been proven to be effective. Of course, you are/were wrong about that. Its effectiveness is debated and studies have linked it to violent personalities.

If you're unfamiliar with what I'm talking about, it's really not hard to find. I would post links here, but I can't.

@PaintMaryconley spanking is beneficial because it proves that you will make good on a threat . it's not the first step of discipline there are many things that come first , verbal warning , chores,time out .then one one warning of getting smacked ,but if a child is THAT out of control a rap on the knuckles or and open handed smack on the bottom drives home that there are consequences to there actions .
