Scipio Stubbs began boxing in 1973 while stationed in Germany for the U.S. Air Force. He was trained under the watchful eyes of two former Olympic fighters, silver medalist Louis Mitchel, and Mike Taylor.
Scipio fought for the Air For European team. He was the All Armed Forces Europe Champion at Junior Welterweight division in 1974 and then placed 2nd the following year in the Welterweight division.
Scipio entered professional boxing in 1976; training under the great L.C. Morgan and champion trainer Billy Mitchell. He later joined the boxing stable of champion trainer Bill Slayton (Ken Norton). He fought 12 times as a pro with a record of 12-2-1. He retired from fighting in 1980 due to injuries.
Scipio has used his exceptional teaching skills and boxing experience to train others, including the Lynwood Sherrif department, and childrens programs. His passion for boxing is inspiring; his patience is encouraging, and his precision creates amazing results in his students.
