@phddddd Need to consider Yves St Martin, 17 times French Champion Jockey.
He retired in late 1980's . He won a Breeders' Cup race very late in his racing career, likely in year 1986, .

@112sje Not only the best Derby finish. Superior as a finish to Grundy V Bustino and a remarkable duel over the most important qtr mile in racing. Epic. Carson rode a great finish but found himself up against the force of nature that was The Maestro Lester with the finish line in sight on Derby day.
