  • Where in the UK are you from Gordon?

  • @GanEdenVideo Northwest England... why do you ask, and where would you have guessed?!

  • one thing kai (digital rev) never does is use this lens on a 1.6x crop body. even if we normal people buy L lenses, in 95% of cases it will be with a apsc. thanks for putting a real world perspective to this vid.

  • @rar133 You're welcome! I always try and test lenses with both full-frame and cropped sensors - see the lenses section at cameralabs . com for all my latest reviews!

  • Thanks for the video Gordon, which was a real eye opener. I was actively considering buying the 24-105 lens for my cropped frame EOS 500D as I thought it would give me a wider angle and better quality image than my kit 18-55 mm lens, but I see that this is not the right choice with my camera. I am looking for a lens that will give me a widen angle on group photos, which I do a lot of.

  • @georgeisaac99 Just remember EVERY lens is multiplied by 1.6 on your camera, so if you want something wider than your 18-55mm, you need a focal length smaller than 18mm. The Canon 10-22mm is a fantastic choice.

  • Hi Gordon - is this lens good for a 500D?

  • @cameralabs since im considering buying a 60D. believe me i've been through all your reviews. luckily i have a friend who has a 7D with the 50mm 1.4 and a 70-200 2.8. i love the 50mm and WILL get it. just trying to see if i need only the kit 18-135, or 17-55 2.8 or this lens (24-105). budget depending obviously

  • @cameralabs Cool. Manc in Australia myself. :) Great vids btw.

  • @rar133 so true!!!

  • I'm thinking of getting this next month. That way I can save a bit (instead of buying a 24-70) and i can opt for a 50mm f/1.4 :) I thought "screw it" i'll go for an f/4 kit. Cheaper and lighter.. I'm happy with my 70-200mm f/4 IS atm so this should make me happier :)
