  • it is true to some degree. Many of the non-traditional teams are made up of many nationalities and it becomes hard for the teams themselves to have a national pride.

Usually this is case when the origin of the team comes from the financier and not the operation. Redbull, Force India, Toyota etc

  • it was making toasters for the company next door. lmfao!

  • Great stuff! But what's this? Irate American in sense of humour failure? Shortly shum mishtake Moneypenny?

  • I was thinking more in terms of companies that sell products around the world. F1 needed Honda, Toyota & BMW to stay in and provide that type of presence. Some of the new teams may not have the big international sponsors like the manufacturer owned teams can get.

Yeah, the teams are made up of many nationalities...you may have a Swiss based team, with a Polish driver, and an German engineer, all speaking english.

Just part of the fun of F1 to me!!

  • @schvatz735 Yep, nationalism is alive and well in F1. Mercedes has two German drivers in their cars, which will painted in the traditional German colors. For him to say that the "other teams don't make a fuss about their nationality" just isn't truthful.

  • leemyster buy a clue all these teams have national pride, and theres nothing wrong with it. Nor is usf1 gonna be top dog right away, we got some earning to do. But when we do earn it u better lieve we will be proud of it, and definatley not gonna feel bad about it. as nashi said to all the other teams have there pride and there not a damn thing wrong with it. To be honest u sound scared usf1 might do good.

  • Lets see how the team usf1 does first. Hopefully it will be competitive with the other new teams and we can go from there. Saying we're number one at this point is premature to me! I'm looking forward to the 2010 season with Michael Schumacher returning, but the loss of Toyota & BMW are big. They helped give the sport credibility and international presence that the new small teams can't really match. Glad kers is gone! What a waste -used one season and thrown away. Typical for F1.
