This was a nice full-thrust take-off from London Heathrow in Jan 2008. Watch how this British Airways Boeing 777-236ER (registration G-YMMF) lifts off easily with a heavy load in just 28 seconds from busy London-Heathrow en route to Chennai (Madras)/India. My BA Club World seat was rear-facing so I was able to film this without having to twist my neck. Enjoy! Update 17 Jan 2008: The plane is turning onto the South Runway just where its sister plane G-YMMM stopped after allegedly gliding into Heathrow without power.

  • @onecunningfox UPDATE: I was curious about you, so had a look at some other vids you've commented on. Surprise surprise: the first one I see is a disgusting, racist rant at another poster on the Etihad crash vid. You even typed 'LOL' - since when does a man well over 50 use language like that?

You're busted. You're not the pilot kind, clearly. You're a FlightSim-loving aviation hobbyist with a geek's knowledge and an attitude problem. Fantasist loser.

  • @onecunningfox

Still not convinced, sorry. Do you really expect me to believe that a retired airline pilot with over 20 years senior service would waste his time bickering (and boasting) over a few aircraft videos on the 'net? They have more dignity than that.

You may dupe the sycophantic aviation geeks that subscribe to your channel, but I don't believe you (and on the very slim off-chance you're telling the truth, you actually seem very petty and unprofessional I'm afraid).

  • perfect engine sound.

  • @morgielivie There are two engine options for the 777 series, the RR trents and GE-90s. Whilst it is possible to have either powerplant on the -200 series 777, you can only have the GE-90s on the -300 series (due to the weight). Also most pilots like to takeoff just under full throttle, and even if not they ALWAYS have to reduce thrust to "Climb thrust" sooner or later.

  • i am a bit confused i thought the 777 was powered by General Electric engines yet most comments say RR 895s , also whwn planes take off arnt they all at full power during taxi/take off i thought it was just how quickly they throttle up from standstill.

  • Yap, the 777 does accelarates quickly, and you can barelly feel it, from my exeperience in an EL AL 777-200ER, pwored by two RR TRENT 895's

  • gotta love those face flattening take offs... there great

  • @raykrislianggi N1 is a variable.

  • @jetengine7 Hence you go into less density the drone leaves. Well done.

  • Chuck norris was puching it

  • @rkhanji Actually, the same with your awesome video, this is full power take-off too! And from the fan blades cone spinning at the center, I can actually tell that the n1 blades in this video is spinning slightly faster, which means slightly more power.

  • Very early rotation...I like! Doesn't seem to be full power though. Check out my video and compare the sound. Cheers mate
