@pn2xtreme That's true - the rule bending particularly. I suppose this is one of the troubles with a show that's a hybrid of entertainment and a dance contest; you have to toe a delicate line between the two. SCD was a lot 'stricter' in previous series but come competition from the X-Factor ilk, the producers have had to step up the entertainment to gain more and fresher viewers and (to me), this has led to relaxed rules and people given carte blanche to 'break' them in order to entertain.

@Electroshogun But they had so much rule bending for Anne Widdecombe, that will have had to give leeway to everybody in this series. And actually, I think it enhanced the series for other couples.

Another brilliant routine from Pamela & James!! And as a tap dance teacher I was very happy to see Pamela's tap section in the middle of this quick step too!!

Its all very well saying Pam broke hold but lets not forget this is James' choreography so no 'she' didnt break hold..he did! And who cares anyway the dance would have been nowhere near as enjoyable if they had stuck in hold!

@java501 - she broke hold during her tapdancing bit. In quickstep, once you take hold you're not allowed to break it like a majority of ballroom dances, perhaps the only exception being American Smooth - so really, she too broke the rules just like Kara did in her rumba and the contentious lift. It's even more interesting when in a previous series of Dancing With The Stars, Len penalised Nicole Scherzinger for breaking hold in her quickstep... yet conveniently forgot the rules here.
