Larry, did you feel that way with "Still Drinking Water From The Well"? I like a good bass lead. Sure you wouldn't necessarily want a whole album or even necessarily a whole song without harmonies and switching parts or maybe an album without changing keys and ranges, but to say basses should not sing verses or leads is not the opinion of many of us. People like RIchard Sterban, George Younce, Tim Riley, Noel Fox, and others sound / sounded good.

Back in the 80's I went to just about every Kingsmen & Cathedral Quaetet concert in Springfield, Missouri. Nothing better then good old southern gospel & the old hymns.

This was while Ernie was still part of the group and also where Anthony Burger became known in the Gospel. Ernie is still singing elsewhere and Anthony is now singing with the angels. I really miss him!

Sounds like you heard all the greats! Any quartet needs that base and of course that high tenor!! The kingsmen are know to each take a part an go with it.
