listening,i just had this incredible flashback to being about 4 yrs old and hearing beethoven for the first time. of course no one took me seriously, but my emotional life was already passionate and fraught with feelings far too huge to express in words... and i remember being so thrilled by the music, which seemed to be expressing the truth of how i so often felt inside. i said to my sister, maybe beethoven never forgot how it felt to be four years old?
