  • Yes this is a winderful video and an excellent cover but that is all that it is.....

You should know that the original by the band was in the movie..but because of insight to contractural arrangements, Albert Grosssman ( manager of several bands including the band, Joplin, Dylan, peter paul and mary, Simon and garefunkel and others), Wanted too uch of a chunk for the album rights..

  • Thanks a lot for your awesome comments ... Yeahh, you're right.. I read about that ....they didnt use The Bands' original movie track on the album due to "contractual license restricitons..", Easy Rider album was released by Dunhill Records while The Band was signed to Warner...

  • muy muy bueno, a mi gusto, la mejor de las versiones; very very good; for me the best version. nice clip! thanks

  • Muchas gracias por colgar su comentario y por apreciar esta version que para muchos es mejor..icluso que con The Band.Muchas gracias.!

  • This version is better than The Band's!!!

No offense to lovers of The Band.

  • Thanks a lot...I totally agree with you.!!

  • @flickout Ditto. For all we know, they were instructed to do so, to maintain the original soundtrack status. Foolish indeed. They might have been capable of a more inspired

    interpretation.

  • This lists SMITH to appear at thee Paradise Rock Club in Boston on Jan 29, 2012. It is NOT the same band!

  • This isn't a cover - it's an imitation. Unfortunately, it's (at best) a so-so imitation. I've had the Smith's album since it was released, and had forgotten they did this song - that's how memorable it isn't. The Band put a certain soul into this, but Smith is too mechanical and misses the feel (as well as a harmony part).

  • @tlharris Yeah but the masterpiece is The Band's. This is like a little brush on a monolith. No offense!

  • @tlharris I agree. I have the album and this was my favorite song on the album.

  • @MrJdogg27

    this is my brother...<8)

  • This is a smokin' cover, but my fave is their scorching version of Baby It's You.

  • @LunaTeVe Not by their choice!

  • @tlharris Totally agree, much better harmonies, Rich's voice has much more character.

  • That is Rich Cliburn on lead Vocals. Listen to the rest of the first album from Smith. He is a underated blues/rock singer!!
