Agree that it's rougher on sex offenders since it's about the only crime ppl won't forgive. That is tho the sort of thing you have to think about when you get involved in those crimes. The ONLY time its tough is I know a teenage girl who consented to have relations with her adult bf at the time, she lied about her age but he still did 25 years. Another friend was mudered, 6 years for their murderer.

One crime has to register for life and another does not and is less time?

when did Penn ever say that the person he was talking about raped someone? In fact, Penn stated several times he has no idea what this person was sent to jail for, except that it was a sex crime--which encompasses anything even remotely related to sex. I'm not excusing that person's behavior in any way, just pointing out that you shouldn't jump to such a harsh conclusion having zero facts to go on.

WEll simply put...hes not supposed to do much of anything except get involved with people who can either use his services indirectly with no noticeable attachment to him personally, or hes supposed to work doing the shit work. Lets face it hes a sex offender. People want to control the world, making it better for themselves, so they act indirectly(through denial of employment) in the hopes that his person will be marginalized sufficiently and/or hopefully kill themselves.

To all those saying "buy his services": for what? A valet? Penn's not the only stakeholder in his show, you know...

And I would say it definitely makes a difference what the nature of the crime was. There's a lot of distance between taking advantage of some horny, stupid teenager and raping someone, or molesting a child too young to understand what's going on, but a lot of the time our system can't tell the difference. Although even a rapist needs a job, even if he doesn't deserve it.
