Hailing from NYC, Gil is shaking up the guitar world with his killer chops and unique style that cohesively fuses jazz, funk, rock and country. He's former lead guitarist with Blood, Sweat and Tears, and has worked with David Sanborn, Will Lee, Dr. John, Chuck Rainey, and many others. Gil is currently focusing on his solo career, with his new cd "Strength", and instructional dvd "NYC Rhythm and Blues". See gilparris.com. Gil's requirements were straightforward: build a unique looking, extremely versatile guitar that is gig-ready right out of the box, and sells for under $600. We went with two Reverend humbuckers, and a Lace Sensor Burgundy single-coil in the middle. The humless Lace Sensor matches perfectly with the humbuckers, and combined with the 5-way pickup selector and Bass Contour control adds up to a wide ranging guitar that'll seamlessly take your tone from NYC to LA to Nashville! The solid korina body guarantees a resonant, light, and lively instrument that responds to the player's touch. Gear used for this recording: Reverend 112 Hellhound amp on US setting, MI Audio Crunch Box for the overdrive parts, close-miced with a Shure SM58 microphone, Audacity recording software. Playing courtesy of Jason Van Doorn.

  • how this BASS CONTOUR changes the sound? Wanna know tecnically. How can I get one system like this for my guitar? Who sells it?

  • no price difference for the whammy bar, it isn't an option. jason simply added an aftermarket trem

  • There is a price diffrence for the whammy bar.

  • Nobody ever pays retail or "list" price when it comes to guitars. When you see the retail price on a production model guitar, you can figure that it will sell for 20% or more off that price. I've seen these on various websites for the $550 t0 $580 range. Look to spend a little more for a case or gig bag.
