Amy Jade Winehouse, 14 September 1983 -- 23 July 2011. Funeral 26 July 2011. Rest In Peace.
* I have been a huge fan of Amy's for years and was quite saddened to learn of her passing. I have spent days just listening to nothing but her music and doing my best at avoiding any media coverage because it upsets me so much. Everyone wants to discuss her addiction problems and some even are making jokes about it. I don't find anything funny about her passing, nor would I anyone's death.
What I would love is for people to simply listen to her music, and not even look at the screen... just hear that amazing voice, brilliant music and priceless lyrics. She was a true pioneer of our time and that is how I want to remember her.
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to her entire family, Mitch & Janice and thank you for giving us the gift of Amy.
I want to thank her friends, her band and most of all her tried and true fans who knew what a star was when we first heard her sing. We are all grieving but in time we will heal.
Rest in peace Amy, rest in peace beautiful angel.

Amy...You were the only female who ruled the music industry with originality, with emotion, and with a unique love and soul for music itself. I'm sorry, but I've given up on the music industry. Gaga, Minaj, etc, those are females who can't tell the difference between a bag of skittles and a decorated glittering piece of plastic. Amy, we will forever miss you! :(
