@clayandothers:You're also right about the .30-06 & other WW2 rifle rounds having a 1000yd range.All were larger than the .308-Good call!!

@clayandothers:You're right about the .308-I was going by the M-60's maximum effective range.In Iraq though,a U.S Army Sniper actually made a 1200yd shot with a. 308,using a hell of a guesstimating & luck.As for .22,I always trust recommended ammo to avoid misfires & thanks for the scope comment.

just a couple problems , you have to many different rounds and you have to carry to much of different rounds , the 22 your on the right track with more ammonuition but 22lr missfire more and if you hit something in the body it will not stop it unless you hit it close range in the head and this round is not accurate , 308 maximum range is 800 m not 1200 m that would be a 30.06 ,,,cool night vision
