@Nbuilder1 NY11 or 12 test of crashing cars have 5 stars u just dont see the forest after a crash, X3 or X5 is car that must look but forester is car that he drive! It is safty. If u think that TANK is good but after crush peopel dont survive :) forest all energy in crash adopt to boxer enging that move safty under our legs. X3 or X5 have nochance on mudd or alps u wanna 4 highway buy x3 u wanna go in forest buy subaru :D u can drive 4x4 synch every where :*

Where we live we have regular winters. So the X3 was a goos suv. But if I would live in the Alps I would probably get a Range Rover. But that's just me.

@Nbuilder1 Lol, I can see where you are coming from. But when you drive through the alps in the winter, and through Davos. You will wish you had a forester. They are just better build for such terrain. the X3 is more a show off model, and the Forester is more a practical model :) (I like them both)

If you can afford the X5 go with the X5. If she thinks is too big look into the X3. I got an X3 when my son was born for my wife great cross over then I sold it yrs later and I got a Forester instead I should have gotten another X3. I like the Subaru's don't get me wrong but after you get used to the X3 its hard to downsize. The Subaru's are good but the X3 and X5's are built better. When I drive the Subaru on the freeway you can feel the wind blow it around. Not in the X3 very smooth

Its a cross between the Impreza Hatchback and a Legacy Outback.

Not many will be interested until it is fitted with 2.5 WRX turbo unit.Subaru if you did this from the start they would have sold like hot cakes.Naturally aspirated you will be lucky to sell but a hand full.
