do you need to go in to the bios , i'm recovering somebodys laptop. But he dossent know the password anymore.. :(

@YaBoyChris0223 depinds on the laptop.
you'll most likely need to go in to set the boot order to boot from the usb first.
if you lost the bios PW check online for a bios reset jumper some laptops have them.
if it's an IBM laptop your sol on the PW recovery without paying someone.

One question aqain.. Say i do everything correctly and got windows 7 installed and setup on disk 0 partition 2 (acer) system, and i DID NOT delete partition 1(pqservice) & i want to go bak to factory deafult(win xp) will acer erecovery (alt+f10) at the startup work, and if it doesnt, how do i go back to factory default WITHOUT the discs, Please reply/answer. THANK YOU!

@AlexGT25 acer genrily has a recovery disk maker. do that befor ya start.
as for retaining the partition since it's pulled up by the bios it should work but don't take my word for it.
if you need the disks you'll just have to get them. it's not like acer charges alot for them.
