I made this quite a while ago.

It's based on the Analog Comparator interrupt in a MSP430G2211 chip. The point of using an MSP430 is the very low power consumption. It's running for more than a week with only two AA batteries (DURACELL, as seen in the video) without being turned off, in a standard day-night cycle.
