@PDXcylists You can buy those upgrades. Also, no the screen is NOT more clear. I have both cameras and use them both in every sport I do and their visual quality is about the same. GoPro's sound quality is definitely better though.
Stop being a Drift Innovation fanboy. Before you call me a fanboy I'm a fan of both camera's and repeatedly use BOTH.

I had a Hero cam in the summer of 09. It felt a little on the cheap side, but it got the job done for what I had it for. Picture was alright, but I hated the 2 button layout and the fact that you cannot see what you're shooting till you watch the video.
I just ordered a Drift HD with an external mic for commentating and some extra mounts for my dirt modified. I'm pretty excited about using it.
