We've condensed a ten hour raising day into this short video. That's one of the neat things about modest timber frames - the entire frame for a home, cottage, pavilion, or other structure can be raised in just one day. Douglas fir timbers are joined with traditional mortise and tenons, locked together with hardwood pegs by the skilled timber framers of New Energy Works. This custom timber frame was raised on the shores of a small lake in eastern Pennsylvania and will serve as a family cottage. Both hammer beam trusses and queen post trusses were incorporated in this frame.
