is there a keyboard that is a proper keyboard on its own but also when you plug it in to an interface and computer you can make it a drum kit, strings, bass, synth and loads of different intsrument like a controller ?

Pretty much any keyboard with MIDI out.

If it doesn't have USB out then you'll have to get a MIDI to USB adapter. They're about $30.

nah man, its awesome. you can have thousands of sounds on your computer.

on a good hardware synth you'll have just a fraction of that.
