@TEXASSURFDONKEY Yeah they are the best live act I ever saw and I have seen them all: including Springsteen and the Stones. Caught them in Nashville around 81 in a little dive bar where Jason danced on one couples table while Warner Hodges did a Chuck Berry duckwalk the length of the bar!! Incredible performers no doubt!!
That's amazing....same for me! The best concert I was ever at was the Georgia Satellites opening up for Jason and the Scorchers. Just an incredible show!! Saw them in Toronto. :)
It's called "cowpunk". Add Dash Rip Rock and Hillbilly Frenkenstein to the list.
Mojo Nixon put together what he called a "cowpunk supergroup" - him, Country Dick from the beat Farmers, Bill Davis from Dash Rip Rock, and John Doe. I remember going "That's Bill's Telecaster but that sounds like Mojo singing..." the first time i heard "I Wanna Race Bigfoot Trucks" on radio...
these guys and georgia sattelites are probably the best bands i have ever seen live in the u.k nice work u.s.a! i`m a brit musician but it doesn`t matter where you come from, real talent will always shine thru.
igloo, you really hit several nails right on the head man. "too country for Rock radio and too Punk for Country radio"...HOW TRUE!!"they tell us what we like, want we want and how to behave." ABSOLUTELY. Would love to discuss with you just how a song gets radio air time.Betcha 90% of USA public has no idea how songs get air time but am quite certain you know.Really sad that great music cannot get "mainstreamed" to the USA public fairly...most not at all.
