  • Woahhh really REALLY NICE you must've spent a fortune! Have you got a huge collection of 3Dfx cards?? :)

  • @killerbee230 I have a few hundred prototypes and a small number of production boards. I use to have hundreds of boxed production boards but sold them off and kept the prototypes.

  • Man you have rampage! How did you got the only one working board? I heard that there are 3 of them, one isn't working with both DX and GL and its testing board. One got lost - nobody knows where is it? is it that lost one?

  • @WizardNumberNext There was about 20 total Rampages made from the get go, the first 10 were test boards with the second 10 being more polished. Who knows where they all ended up! New boards were usually made in batches of 10 as they were for testing and refining the design.

  • @gsdonovan

Were there different Rampage protos or just the one? I read that they planned to make single and dual GPU configurations with and without a separate T&L chip, so that would have been 4 different protos right there.

  • @gamewizard The only protos that were made were the first 10 boards used for testing ram and other function and then the next 10 which had the "fixes" the ram test boards (A0) have the "gpu" socket. The A1 boards have mounted chips and other improvements. The dual chip boards were only in the design stage, the T&L chip was taped out but no boards were made. Rumor is the first batch of chips showed up when 3dfx was locking the doors.

  • @KasparOnTube @gsdonovan

Yeah, what is that 8-fan card? Is it just another 4-gpu card but with two fans on each gpu?

  • i was a voodoo fan. glide was much faster than opengl back then...

  • @K31TH3R agreed!

i have the 3 and 5 series, they still work and wont go anywhere ;-)

  • Hey man can you tell me how did you managed to get it?

  • how that card with 8 FAN called? and is it stock cooling? looks awesome :D

  • Yeah dude, save those treasures, you will get your reward in some decades when you could sell them to a museum and get tons of money, and they will live there forever :D

  • I want to see them all in one computer! Amazing!

  • @georgeleus Well there was some luck being in the right place and the right time, but most of it was just hard work tracking down people who had the boards and being ready.
