I was commissioned to create Sagittarius.
Sagittarius is the ninth astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Sagittarius. Sagittarius is considered a "masculine", positive (extrovert) sign.

  • Incredible. And you are right, you need a reference book or photos. I know the horse is deemed one of the hardest animals to drawn and paint. There is far more detail to their body then most people know. They are muscular, sinewy and if you don't capture that- you just kind of have a torso on 4 legs. Your work is awesome and you are so modest!

  • @TheSicilianSisters Thank you very much.. do you sculpt?

  • @TheSicilianSisters I just got an armature from truformarmatures Friday. I think it's the 1/4 life size horse armature.. I'll be opening the box next week.. probably Monday or Wednesday.. depends on the foundry and if they're open on Monday. I think it's a holiday of some kind.. I lose track. I'll put up a video on it if I do have it. You might consider getting one of those and trying your hand at sculpting a horse.

  • It is so beautiful! I love the feathering; it's the small details that make the difference :)

  • @NatriumCl Thank you so much for the comment

  • If the company name can be found online I am going to see what the cost is for an armature( size is obviously a factor). Thx for the heads up on that! :-)

  • Did you open that box yet from truformarmatures ?

  • @clayguy1 Yes,but I am a beginner. I was hoping to watch your vids & learn- instead I sat just awestruck. You mentioned doing horses many times before. Us beginners know it will take many horses before we are accurate with the body. I have dabbled in various arts & crafts & love to collect sculptures and figurines. Have a thoroughbred horse( rescued) so I know what you are trying to capture, is a majestic animal ,where accuracy on the details is incredibly crucial. Subscribed! :)

  • Very impressive indeed. It was a pleasure to watch you work :)

  • I like to sculpt, but lack the technical end of it, like armatures, how to preserve once finished, etc... Why do so many artists use oil based clay that "never hardens"? How then, do you keep the piece s integrity over time? I would love to know what sculpting medium is the best and maybe one that , when it's finished, it hardens and that's it. Is there such a thing? by the way, you are amazing....
