I caught him live at the Jazz Alley in Seattle in 1999. In fact I lived 1 block directly behind the Alley. I traveled a lot and sometimes would drop by to pleasant surprises like Jimmy Smith, Elvin Jones, Monty Alexander with Ray Brown, Oscar Peterson and so on. Then of course there is Yoshi`s in Oaktown. The 2 top jazz clubs on the west coast. The Jazz Alley & Yoshi`s. Looking back, that was a closing window to see those musicians and musical icons of the 20th century.
