Hwaseong (means the Brilliant Castle/ Fortress), the wall surrounding the centre of Suwon, the provincial capital of Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, was built in the late 18th century by King Jeongjo of the Joseon Dynasty. Located 30kilometres (19 miles) south of Seoul, Hwaseong and the small palace in it named Haenggung, UNESCO designated the fortress a World Heritage site in 1997. It's pretty well preserved and pretty nice place for a one day walk trip with family.
